Dozen British trainers targeting Saudi Cup

The Saudi Cup published its likely fields on Friday and 15 British-trained horses are now expected to take their chance at the race meeting, to be held in Riyadh on 25 February.
SAFFRON BEACH will be the sole dirt runner for the British contingent, taking part in the world's richest horse race, The Saudi Cup. Bought by Najd Stud for HRH Prince Faisal at the Tattersalls December Mare Sale last year, Saffron Beach has been prepared for this race by Jane Chapple-Hyam, under whose tutelage the mare has already won two Group 1 races. She will attempt to emulate MISHRIFF and become the second British-trained winner of the Saudi Cup in only its fourth running.
The Neom Turf Cup and 1351 Turf Sprint are each likely to feature four British runners while the Red Sea Turf Handicap has attracted six runners from Britain.
