BRITISH RACING MAINTAINS ITS WORLD-LEADING STATUS
Great British Racing International (GBRI) has released its 2025 BUY.OWN.RACE.BREED investor's brochure.
The brochure, released annually by Britain's international marketing body, reaffirms the world-leading status of British racing and bloodstock.
GBRI hope that this brochure will be a useful tool for investors and aid them in making informed investment plans for 2025.
BUY IN BRITAIN
In 2024, 22 Tattersalls graduates won Group/Grade 1 races, more than any other sales house globally.
Tattersalls graduates won Group 1 or Group 2 races at all of Britain's leading racing festivals in 2024.
The Goffs Doncaster Breeze Up Sale once again proved a primary source of Royal Ascot juvenile winners when LEOVANNI won the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes.
OWN IN BRITAIN
In 2024, 10 turf horses trained in Britain were rated 120 or higher, more than any other country.
48 trainers based in Britain won 182 Group/Graded races in 14 countries last year, showcasing the strength in depth of the British training ranks.
In addition, 31 international owners from 15 countries won Group races globally with their British-trained horses in 2024, including 29 Group/Grade 1 races.
RACE IN BRITAIN
Over the last five years, nine British Group 1 races have featured in the world's Top 10 races, more than any other country.
On average, half of Britain's Group 1 races feature in the world's Top 100 races, a higher ratio than Australia, France, Ireland, Japan and the USA.
The Juddmonte International Stakes held at York Racecourse was crowned Longines World's Best Race in 2024.
BREED IN BRITAIN
In 2024, 17 stud farms in Britain bred or reared Group/Grade 1 winners.
11 stallions standing in Britain for the 2025 season sired Group/Grade 1 winners in eight countries in 2024.
VIA SISTINA, bred by Laundry Cottage Stud in Hertfordshire, was the highest-rated mare in the IFHA World's Best Racehorse Rankings since ENABLE (GB) in 2019.
